We’ve been a member of OPCA (Overseas Project Cargo Association), a global agent network of professional project cargo freight forwarders and logistics companies, since 2016. OPCA serves "Project Focused Networking Strategy" which refers to gathering project cargo specialists with a background in project cargo field and that are willing to collaborate with fellow agents based on project cargo shipments and management.
- Through the network of OPCA we’ve just recently been a part of a large project taking place from Sweden to Surabaya in Indonesia. We loaded two propeller axles with a length of 20 meters and a weight of 16 tons each, says Allan Nielsen, Director Air & Sea at NTEX.
The loading took place at Caterpillar, sited on the island Öckerö in the archipelago just outside Gothenburg in Sweden. After loading and securing the shafts on the truck, the journey started with a ferry transportation from the island to the mainland. It was then shipped from Wallhamn, north of Gothenburg, on a special made MAFI 62 ́ and is now on its way to final its destination in Indonesia.
- The procedure went smoothly and I am really proud of my colleagues and the company. We couldn’t have hoped for a more successful performance, says Allan.
