In April, Fraktkompaniet established a new distribution facility with domestic service and warehouses in Gislaved in Småland. The facility is shared with the parent company NTEX who in Gislaved has taken over some traffic from Borås and now handles traffic to and from Norway, Finland, the Baltics and Central Europe.
Fraktkompaniet, which was acquired by NTEX at the end of 2019, already has warehouses in Gothenburg, Stockholm, Malmö and Helsingborg. The strategic establishment in Gislaved means that the company now shares a distribution facility of over 1 000 m2 with the parent company NTEX.
– Even before the acquisition, we were looking for an establishment in the area around Värnamo. Since NTEX was already established in Gislaved, it felt natural to utilise existing resources and competencies that are already there, says Anette Yngvesson, CEO of Freight Company.
With daily transport from the Gislaved terminal, Fraktkompaniet meets an expressed customer need in a region with many expansive manufacturing companies. Packages, goods, machines and whole trucks are transported in and out of the terminal to customers all over Sweden.
– Since the start in Gislaved, we have daily contact with a majority of potential customers, and we are pleased to see that there is so much interest in domestic transport in Småland. Our intention is to continue to grow and we are looking at more locations in Sweden with a large density of industries, says Anette.
More lines and increased quantities of goods
At the same time, NTEX has moved parts of the international traffic previously handled in Borås to the office in Gislaved. The planning of shipping to and from Norway, Finland, the Baltics and Central Europe is controlled from Poland but is now coordinated in Gislaved. Some parts of Finland's traffic are still handled via NTEX in Stockholm.
– At present, we handle a total of 150-200 units and about 6 000 shipments per month in Gislaved. The centralisation gives us greater opportunities for combinations of both goods and cars, as well as a better overview of our units, says Bobi Dojcinovski, General Manager at NTEX Gislaved.
