In order to keep giving their customers the best possible service there is, fast growing companies like NTEX needs to attract the best employees. At NTEX in Immingham, England, an apprenticeship investment has successfully been beneficial for both its customers as well as the company.
NTEX in Immingham, England, has approached the challenge of attracting young talents by starting an apprenticeship, back in January 2017. What started out as a smaller, two-person commitment has developed into hiring four full-time employees as well as five highly dedicated apprentices as of today. The apprentices in Immingham is trained and are working in a variety of roles within all the departments.
– From a company perspective it’s important to attract younger talents into our industry. In the future, when the older generation retires, we will have made sure to have trained our new staff the successful NTEX way. It’s beneficial to our customers, our office and to NTEX as a company, says Melanie Horton, Export Groupage and Customs Manager.
NTEX ethos has always been to train the apprentices into a full-time position at NTEX Limited. Summer Fenwick has been with NTEX for 14 months and has been taken on as a full-time employee within the Customs department. In her first year Summer studied her Business Administration Qualification level 2 and has currently started her level 3.
– Joining the apprenticeship scheme has provided a learning opportunity that gives me experience in the office environment and helped me work towards the job opportunity that I’ve been given. NTEX is supportive of my studies and provides good on the job training, says Summer.
Ben Johnson has been with NTEX for 6 months and currently on an accounting apprenticeship with our finance department studying the AAT apprenticeship. This is the UKs leading professional membership body for accounting staff.
– I find it very helpful to link my studies to my work at NTEX and my team is very helpful in assisting me in doing this and they provide the extra guidance when I need it. It truly helps me to learn from the ground up to become a valued member of the accounting team, says Ben.
